Recent Update

Wow! I realized I'd been out of the loop at blogger.com for so long. My last post here was what, years ago?!

Well, I've been kind of busy trying to look busy. Joke. I've been doing a lot of things here and there. And getting nowhere.

Yes, that's what you get when you don't have a plan, a work plan. I realized that I've wasted a lot of time being unproductive. I've written on top of my todo pad "Leave the habit of actually writing goals to the winners" to remind me always of how I've gone astray, wasted time and effort, and accomplished nothing.

Lately, I've purchased a WSO from some guy who teaches about new back linking methods, post-panda. As part of his blueprint, he is soon to give away some sort of planner to aid in the implementation of the blueprint. I'm so looking forward to get ahold of these planners so I could finally learn to organize myself and the work I need to do.

As of today, I've yet to read all that the WSO contains. It's one big overwhelming resource and I've just began to digest the first few juicy information in it. Long way to go yet, especially the implementation part. Yeah, the hard part is taking action. But it's a necessary evil if I ever want to see something productive from the purchases I've made so far.

Well, I think I'd better go dive back again. Be seeing you soon, guys. But before I leave, let me point you to some posts I've published lately:
Have fun everyone! And advance greeting for a very merry christmas!

Squeezing a Keyword

I hit a jackpot on a keyword that is, as of now, the biggest earner in my adsense account. With jackpot, I don't mean hundreds of dollars per day. It actually gives me only a few dollars a day, but among my sites, it's the one that brings me the most income.

So, in a bid to make the most out of it, I got myself another domain related to this particular keyword and is now attempting to squeeze whatever I can get out of it. I am now in the process of bringing this new site with the same keyword to the first page of the google serp, SEO-wise.

If, say, I get to be 2nd for that keyword with site number 1, and 3rd (or 4th) for the same keyword with site number 2, would I increase my earnings for that keyword alone? How much would I get more compared to what I'm getting now?

This is what I'll get to know in around 3 months from now. If things go as planned, I should be able to hit #5 (or better, #3) on the serp in 3 months.

I'll make an update on this soon.

Mysterious Google Algorithms

I still cannot understand the ways of Google. There's their google dance for one. Two new sites of mine which had been enjoying a few weeks of sunshine on its first pages suddenly disappeared (again?!). Well, I've known about the google dance for a while. The thing is this one seem to take a really long time to fall back in step. One of the two sites returned but the other one is dilly-dallying somewhere between the 100th and 200th pages.

I got the feeling that I should've just gotten ahead with my backlinking. Perhaps I'm still such a newbie as to be affected each time this happens. Everytime this happens, I tend to lay off a bit on my backlinking and sometimes stop altogether. I remember having done that on my first business site several months ago. But then someone advised me to go ahead with my backlinking and not mind the tanking on the serps as it will eventually go back up. Well, remembering this, I guess I'll have to let go of my old insecure ways and play the game as it should be played. The web is a lot like real life. If you allow yourself to be bullied, you will be bullied.

Google Dance Surprise

A post ago, I declared that the Google Dance must have been over because my site has finally settled at #2 on google's first page for its targetted keyphrase. Then a couple of days prior to halloween, I was dismayed to find it gone from the first page. It was still in the google index but it obviously tanked and I was so disappointed for the sudden dive and not knowing what I did wrong. My first thought was probably that the forums from which I left backlinks had deleted my backlinks. And a lot of them must have done it all at the same time. The next day, I checked again and still found no shadow of my site on the first page. This is serious, I thought. I have gotten used to earning a few dollars from it every now and then and it was a sorry event to let go of that opportunity.

On Halloween, I happened to read some blogger's article about Google's PR update activities. He said that Google had chosen halloween to update PRs. So I checked my personal blog for any remote chance of a PR update. Then surprise, my PR0 blog is now PR1!

Still with a heavy but hopeful heart I checked google for any chance of my site getting back on the first page. Sure enough, it's back sitting regally on its 2d place throne on google's first page. And surprise of all surprise, it is now PR2! It didn't even touched PR1, it just leaped up to PR2. And more than half of its inner pages got PR1 too. Hurray!

Experiment Update 3

Well, after a little over 2 months, I think the google dance has finally settled down. My site now sits comfortably at the #2 spot on the first page of google.

Again, I have not done nothing else but keep on backlinking. And I don't mind commenting on blogs. Just backlinking by registering on forums and putting in my links on signature or bio. That's all.

Now, I have registered another domain for another keyphrase. I'm taking it slow this time. I am in hurry. It has not been indexed yet. When it does get indexed, or when I lose my patience, whichever comes first, I'll do some action on it.

Finally was able to add some articles to my blog. Latest articles are:

Experiment Update 2

Is the google dance over?

I certainly hope so, because I found that on the 51st day of my experimental site, it has reached #3 in the first page of google. Not only that, the #4 spot was an inner page of my same site. Now, it's its 61st day, and it's still standing proud and tall at its #3 (and #4) perch.

The amazing thing about this site's gradual rise to its current position is that I attribute its upward movement almost solely through the effectiveness of using backlinks from inner (thus, no PR)pages of high PR sites.

The #1 site is a forum site. The #2 spot is an inner page of that same forum site. On some computers, or when I search using IE, that inner page does not appear, thus my site gets to be #2.

I am quite contented at the position of my experimental site right now. My goal of course, although I'm not pursuing it very seriously, is to beat the current #1 spot holder. Who doesn't want to be #1?

While my site is steady at #3 in google, it got stuck at #17 in Yahoo. In Bing, I don't mind being stuck at #1. Thanks bing.com! As of this writing, I checked bing and found my site listed at #1 and #2!

My moralde blog is in some kind of stagnant condition having not been updated for weeks. The last post, Captcha Free was way back on the 9th of September; and Math Blaster Software on the 3rd of September.

Experiment Update

Previous information about the experiment:

Seven days after launching my experimental site, it appeared in Google on its first page at the 7th spot. It stayed there for a couple of days and then dropped to 635th.

Update:

After 12 agonizing days, it resurfaced, and this time at the third spot for my chosen keyphrase. Hurray!

But in Yahoo, it slid down from first spot to third spot. And who are on 1st and 2nd? shopping.yahoo.com! Well, can't argue with them. It's their search engine.
